Welcome to our Room 204 Blog!

Instead of keeping a reading log as we have for the other novels that we have studied this year, we are going to share our thoughts and ideas through use of this blog for Hatchet.  The responses will still be read and graded by me. Rather than getting one large grade at the end of the novel for your response journal, you will get credit for your responses along the way. 



A few rules need to be followed to ensure that you earn credit for your hard work:
  1. When you post, be sure to include your first name and last initial with your response. Also, please include your room number. For example, John Q, Room 204.
  2. Be sure to spell check your work before you submit your comment.
  3. Meet deadlines for submitting your comments.
  4. Make sure your submissions are still a minimum of 6 sentences.

    I think what brian means by slow his thoughts down is because hes been through so much from the plane crash he needs to clam down. I think that beacause if i was him i would want to do th same thing.I also think thatwhen he said that its because when the plane crashed he hit his head and still hurts. Also i think because he keeps thinking hes in the woods by himself with no one else and thinking the divorce and pilot having a heart attack hes saying that he needs to relaxe someone will come and ill be saved in a safe place wiyh my dad where i was suposed to be in the first place.i think that because theres alot of things going on in his life. finally i think that once someone comes he will be perfecly fine at home with his father.

    I think that braian was trying not to be comfused with all the words in his head.I think that braian should take a deep breath and just calm down.It's basicly because of mother and fathers divorce and he keeps on thinking about.brian needs to foreget about the pain and the problems with the plane crash and the secret about his mom.next i think that brian will start having the bad head aches and he will be woundering why.last but not least i think brian will get hurt.

    I can infer that Brian told himself to keep his thoughts short because all the information was old but since the plane crash it was all just coming back to him.Brian also might want to keep his thoughts short so his head doesn't continue to bother him.He might want to keep his thoughts short because he can take them one step at a time.If Brian takes the information one step at a time he can remember what happened before the plane crashed into the water.Brian might want to keep his thoughts short so he can remember what happened if someone asked him how he got stranded on the island.Brian might just want to keep his thoughts short so he doesn't have to think so much.

    My favorite character in the book is Doon because he is going to help Lina with the message. Doon wants to be friends with Lina again, but first they have to figure out the message to help the city of Ember.
